A few months ago both of us had a very powerful feeling that there was someone out there that was looking for us. Ever since, we have done everything in our power to get ready to be the best future parents that we can. We just want you to know that we are praying for you and your baby and have been doing so for a long time. We are so looking forward to getting to know you. We both believe very strongly that God places people in our lives in order to lift one another up.
We both grew up in Utah. Jake is a child of the suburbs, and I’m a small town girl. He got a bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah in English literature and I went to BYU and studied math education. I taught high school math for five years in Salt Lake and then discovered my passion for helping families with investing, personal finance, getting out of debt, and preparing for retirement. Jake works for the LDS Church and does a lot with websites, social media, and mobile apps.
Jake and I met just over four years ago. For our first date, Jake took me out to a fancy dinner at the Oasis Café in downtown Salt Lake. Even from the first time I saw him, I knew that there was something special about Jake. After dinner, he invited me to make chocolate chip cookies with him. We went back to his apartment and he made me the tastiest batch of cookies I’ve ever had, and that sealed the deal! J We’ve been together ever since and have loved every minute of it.
We live on a quiet street in Salt Lake City. At the end of our street there is a hiking trail. Jake and I love being outdoors. We are really looking forward to snowboarding season when we can go up and play in the snow on the mountain, and then come home and cuddle up with hot chocolate under a blanket and watch movies. We love spending time with both of our families. We like to play games with them, go out to eat, and just tell stories and laugh together. We love going to music concerts, traveling, and serving others.
When we got married, we thought we would be just like everyone else and start having children. But after a couple years without success, we started doing tests with the doctors and found out that our chances were very slim. We were both devastated, but we felt that we were still supposed to be parents and have a family. We just want you to know that we want you to be a part of our family, just like one of our own sisters who we love so much. We have both had several friends who have had open adoptions and have had very positive experiences. We know that having an open relationship with you is best for the child and best for you. We want you to still be a part of your baby’s life. We promise you that we will be the very best parents that we can for both you and your precious child.
Please don’t hesitate to get in contact with us. We can’t wait to meet you!
